A brief history of Control

I love these low voltage analog lighting consoles. They remind me of sci-fi movies on late night television when that was a thing. In reality these were the hi-tech consoles that centralized low voltage control of the lighting system. They had the ability to pre-set intensity values and crossfade between looks. And though digital consoles utilizing DMX control replaced these you will still find low voltage (0-10V) control components in modern day venues often tied to the main lighting consoles or controlled separately through touch panels and button stations. Though I am pretty sure one of these still exists on the bridge of Battlestar Galactica…
